Missions

Local missions include:

• Paxton Area Ministerial Association
• PBL Foodbank
• School District Holiday Meals
• Support our Pool – local Park District
• Prayer Shawl Ministry
• PBL School Supplies
• Hold a rummage sale with donations made by both members and  non-members. Proceeds are used to support local mission work.

Outreach Missions include:

Church World Service School Kits, Hygiene Kits, Clean-up Kits, and the Blanket Program

Education

• Sunday School is offered for children of all ages from August through May. Sunday School meets on Sundays from 9am-9:45am
• Confirmation Class for eligible youth-Sunday mornings, 9am

Youth

• Christian Education Committee plans a variety of activities for our youth during the year including:
• Easter Egg Hunt
• Owl Prowl & Wolf Howl trips to Middlefork Forest Preserve
• Visit area nursing homes Wednesday evenings in the summer to play bingo with the residents
• Various Youth Group activities during the year including visits to Sholem Pool, Hardy’s Reindeer Ranch, Barnum & Bailey Circus, Christmas live nativity scene

Worship & Music

Choir

Choir meets every Wednesday night from 7-8 pm from mid August to late May.  Priscilla Andreae directs and leads the choir.

Children’s Sermons

Each Sunday Rev. Steve prepares a short “talk” just for the youth. The children are very important at Federated and this is a special opportunity in our service to share and teach our children.

Community

The Federated Church participates in a variety of local activities including:

• Local Christmas Parade each year, and many years has a live nativity scene.
• Help plant flowers in the main street planters.
• Participate in Paxton’s all-church softball tournament.

Many members from The Federated Church of Paxton are represented in a wide variety of volunteer community activities including:
